In the first episode of his podcast, "It Needed To Be Said," wide receiver Tyreek Hill said his current quarterback with the Miami Dolphins, Tua Tagovailoa, seemed to be a more accurate passer than his former quarterback with the Kansas City Chiefs, Patrick Mahomes. On the second episode of his podcast, Hill said that opinion upset a portion of the NFL fan base. "Every social media account I own, I got death threats on," Hill said on Tuesday.

The vitriol came after the former West Alabama standout said: "Obviously, like I'm going to go with one-five as the strongest arm. But as far as accuracy-wise, I'm going with Tua all day...I love the deep ball, but guess what though? I done expanded my game, so now I'm doing a lot more than just the deep ball now. I'm doing intermediate routes, I'm doing short routes, so now I actually need a guy who can just get me the ball now on a dagger route, on a corner route, on a shallow cross route - you know, right now, right in my chest, so now I can do the rest." In the latest episode, Hill said some fans didn't understand what he said as he tried to put "confidence in my quarterback." "I just feel like a lot of people overreacted for no reason," Hill said. "… They really didn't see what I said. A lot of people are just acting off emotion." - Birmingham News

Bowling Green State University reserve quarterback Tucker Melton has entered the transfer portal, he announced Monday on Twitter. The 6-foot-2, 215-pound redshirt sophomore served as the backup to Matt McDonald last season. He completed 2 of 10 passes for 23 yards and an interception in four games in 2021. He did not play in the pandemic-shortened 2020 season. Melton was a three-star recruit in the class of 2020 out of Central High School in Phenix City, Ala. He chose Bowling Green among 11 offers, including from Akron, UT-San Antonio, and South Alabama. According to 247Sports, Melton was the second-highest rated player in BGSU's 2020 class behind defensive back Deshawn Jones, and he is BGSU's 10th-highest-rated commit in program history. - Toledo Blade
